You will take the lead in designing new vessels or conversions of existing vessels, from a blank piece of paper to approval by the Authorities.
Your role includes:
- Development of prime documents such as General Arrangements and Specifications.
- Project management.
- Communication with Owner, Yard, Class, and Authorities.
- Drive design improvements in response to more environmentally friendly shipping, client satisfaction, value engineering and reliability improvement.
At KNUD E. HANSEN we are working in a team environment with a high level of freedom and responsibility, it is therefore important that the candidates have the following qualifications:
- Naval Architect (B. SC/M.SC or equivalent).
- Eight (8) years of proven work experience from shipyard, Class, consultancy.
- Positive, communicative, and open-minded attitude.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Able to think independently and formulate conclusions consistent with KNUD E. HANSEN’s high standards.
- Experience with general ship design and related regulations such as SOLAS, IMO codes etc.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and MS office. Knowledge to NAPA is an advantage.
- Proficient in Business English. The role requires verbal and written communication in English.
- Current working entitlement/visa to work in Denmark is required.
- Being ready to travel as required to support clients or suppliers on the field.
