At the moment Banedanmark has a contract for storage of rails, flash but welding of rails, partitioning of rails into custom made lengths and parts, grinding of rails, production of transition and compromise rails and the transportation of rails via railway freight trains and trucks to different sites and stations in Denmark. The rails themselves are however produced by a different subcontractor to Banedanmark via a different contract. The current contract for rail storage, welding and transportation is up for renewal via an upcoming tender. Banedanmark has therefore initiated this market dialogue with potential suppliers in order to tender out an optimal solution.
