II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

Banedanmark owns three intermodal terminals in Denmark located in Høje Taastrup, Taulov and Padborg. The terminals are currently operated by external suppliers on behalf of Banedanmark. The terminals are located on the Scandinavian-Mediterranean freight corridor and are a central part of Danish and International intermodal transport. Intermodal transport is defined as door-to-door transport of cargo by means of more than one mode of transport. Containers are lifted between lorry and rail by use of the equipment available at the terminals.

Banedanmark will over the summer of 2018 conduct a market analysis and seek dialogue with market actors via physical meetings. Banedanmark is seeking input regarding market interest in the future organisation of the terminals, commercial prospects, types of contracts, contract design and more.

The outcome will form the basis of the future organisation around the intermodal terminals after 2020.
